After 10 years running his own plumbing business, Geoff Wallace establishes Plumbline, a retail bathroom showroom in Jarden Mile, Ngauranga, offering a full range of bathroom products as well as bathroom design & installation services.
Plumbline begins importing its own products from the UK from companies such as Twyfords, Royal Doulton and Shaws with a focus on traditional design. At the same time, the company moves into new premises in Victoria St, Petone and changes direction to distribute its products nationwide through bathroom retailers and plumbing merchants.
The first Plumbline catalogue titled ‘A Fresh Start’ is released to the market featuring a niche range of traditional bathroom products and includes the launch of solid timber bathroom furniture designed and manufactured in New Zealand.
Plumbline’s famous ‘Blue Book’ is released which quickly becomes one of the most popular and well-known bathroom catalogues in the market.
Plumbline moves into new premises in Fitzherbert St, Petone with larger warehousing and office facilities and some of Geoff’s family join the business.
Plumbline moves again to larger premises in Kenepuru Dr, Porirua.
Plumbline’s all new 270-page catalogue is released to the market with hundreds of new products.
A stunning new showroom opens in Newmarket, Auckland. Italian brands Fantini, Nicolazzi and Fontealta are launched.
The new Buddy tapware collection is designed and launched with 12 finish options.
Plumbline moves into the purpose-built new Head Office & Distribution Centre in Wellington.
The new Wellington Showroom is officially opened and Concrete Nation, Claybrook & Axent are launched.
Life moves online due to the pandemic and Plumbline quickly adapts by offering a 3D virtual tour of the showrooms and online shopping. The fluted Forma vanity is launched with 13 colour options.
